I am going to go through some product recommendations that will help an average movie goer find films and watch them.
Video Streaming Services
A video streaming service is videos compress over the internet and shown to consumers when they want to watch them.
Netflix
Netflix is a streaming service that starts at $7.99 a month, but it also has the option of being $9.99 a month, or $11.99. The difference is the way you are able to watch the service. The more money you pay a month the more screens you are allowed to watch at one time, as well as the over all quality or definition. This means the difference in watching HD videos, or super HD videos. They also have a dvd service along with it but it is in a different pricing range. The service is the one that started streaming, or made it main stream. It has a positive point of not having commercials at all. You are also able to binge watch as many shows as you would like. A down side to the service is that they have movies and tv shows coming and going every month. This means they are constantly getting updated things to watch, but if you are to slow to watch certain things, you will not get a chance to watch them. On the positive side they are releasing their own content now. These movies, and tv shows are staying up on the service. Overall Netflix was the original in video streaming, and it seems like it is sticking around. Plus the content that they are coming out with has been positively reviewed. Shows like orange is the new black, and stranger things are both shows that have won awards, and come straight from the Netflix service. The content is better than some of the other services because you get very up to date shows, and series. Also, if you would like to try the service out it is free for a month all you have to do is give a credit card, and if you do not enjoy the service you can quit after the month.
Amazon Video
Next you have Amazon video that will cost you $8.99 a month, or if you have Amazon prime at $10.99 a month it is free. It is cheaper than Netflix in both options. The site has about 40,000 titles to stream, but the down side is they are not all free through the Amazon video service. This has an upside compared to Netflix because it gives you more options if you have watched all the free content you would like to watch. The site also allows offline downloads so you can watch things on your tablet or other device. It also has the option to add other streaming services for cheap. It will cost you $2.00 to add showtime, and different prices for other services. When looking though the website it is easy to navigate, you just have to look through the videos and see if it has a prime label over it showing its free. Overall, it looks like a good service. It has more options than Netflix, but you might end up paying more to watch better things.
Hulu
Hulu is priced at $7.99 per month, or $11.99 per month. The difference on price in this service is you are paying the extra money to not have advertisements. The positive side of getting the hulu service is the company has big studio backers so they get shows, and movies right when they come out. They do not have to wait like other services, or have you pay extra to watch them. If you do not mind advertisements then this will be the service for you. OR, if you are willing to fork over the extra couple of dollars every month this will work as well. I have used the service and the one major down point to it is they constantly reuse the same commercials. This may not seem that bad but when your watching the same two commercials every ten minutes during a show it can be annoying.
HBO Now
This was the first major premium channel service to branch out onto its own. A positive thing is if you all ready are subscribed to HBO through you cable than this service is free for you. Otherwise the cost is $14.99 per month. The downside to this service is the price compared to the other services. On the other hand HBO makes some of the best tv series available. Shows such as game of thrones, or Sopranos are award winning classics. They also have a very wide variety of premium movies to watch. This has the same option as Netflix by getting a free trial by using different applications on your phone or tablet. The thing with HBO is your paying more, but in my opinion your getting the better content. And if you like the show that is currently airing the episodes are released minutes after they start to air. Overall if you feel like paying a premium for a more premium service then you will enjoy HBO Now.
Sling TV
Sling tv will run you $20.00 a month, but it is the most like a traditional tv service available. You have access to channels such as AMC, TBS, CNN, and more. It also has the features of bundling like Amazon. You are able to get ESPN, and ESPN2 for $5.00 more a month, or add on nine more channels with HBO now for an extra $15.00 per month. You can also multistream for an extra $20.00 a month. This allows you to stream the service on multiple devices. This option is a little high for my tastes. It allows you more content, and even sports if you would like, but for a person out just to watch movies this may not be the best option for you. But, if you like the variety of options of things to watch then this might be the right thing.
