Movie Review: V for Vendetta

Hello again this is Movie Connoisseur

The next movie I would like to review is V for Vendetta

This movie starring Hugo Weaving as V, and Natalie Portman as Evey takes a look at what can happen when a democracy turns into a dictatorship.

The movie revolves around the main character V who is a vigilanty towards the government, and is trying to show the people what is actually happening to them. The movie starts out with him blowing up a clock tower, and is doing other things to bring attention to what is happening with the government. While he is doing all these different things, he runs into Evey who is an employee of the local news station. He is about to be arrested when she decides to help him. This puts her in danger, and is injured in the process of helping him. V takes her to his secret hideout. From there shes decides that he is doing the right thing, but does not want to help him. She leaves, and is taken by people in black masks. She is tortured to find out information about V. While this is going on V gets people to march on the government.

Without spoiling too much events unfold, and show how the dictator came into power. This process killed many people in the process, and led V to become disfigured. While finding out all of this information, V decides to get revenge on the people who hurt him.

This movie is a good example of how fear can make people make the wrong decisions. The cinematography is fantastic, as well as the interaction between characters for this movie. The story jumps around a bit, and has a good twist on how everything unfolds, and fits together. It is a little bit gory, but nothing over the top, and has great story telling elements. I would recommend this movie to everyone who is looking for a new movie to choose.
