How to Watch a Movie

After reading through some of my posts a person might decide on what they want to watch. Now once they have decided what to watch they have to pick a way to watch the movie. This can be difficult because there are so may options out there right now.

There are two main ways to watch a movie. The first being in a theater, and the second is being at home. Their are some reasons a person would choose either, and I am going to go into the main ideas.

Budget
First off is the budget. In my time of being involved in watching movies, the price has substantially increased to seem them. When going to the movies it is an experience, and you are going to pay for it. The average movie price for a ticket around me is about $10 to $15 just for the ticket, and can increase if the movie is 3-D, in an imax, or can be higher if the experience is heightened. This can set back a person a lot of money especially if they are not just paying for them selves. But, some options are available if you like going to the theater. Some theaters have rewards programs that give you discounts if you continuously go to the theater. Another option is if can go on days that most of the general population does not go. A local cinema near me has a two for one ticket day, and another day where a standard ticket will allow you a drink, and popcorn for the standard price. This can be a huge cost cutting tactic. Their are benefits for going to the theater. With the higher price, theaters are moving into a heightened experience. The first major difference of recent years is many theaters are allowing people to pick their seats in the theater. You are able to pick where you want to sit, and do not have to deal with being stuck in a seat you do not want to sit in. This also allows people with a bigger group to sit together without having to get to the theater early to pick a seat. This way people who do not like to sit in the front row, or any place they do not like. It also allows people the ability to go to a different show if seats are not available to their liking. The seats have changed in the last few years as well. Theaters are moving towards more comfortable seats with more space, and the ability to recline. This allows a more comfortable experience. This allows people more time to get into the theater at their own pace, and allow them to have a better overall experience. Another aspect that many movie theaters are moving towards is having a bar, or place to hangout before, and after the movie. This allows consumers to not just rush in and out of the movies. They can get their early, and relax with a drink or hang out before the movie. The downside to this is most of the items available are only available for purchase in high quantities, and are expensive. Thats where finding deals by going on different days can be a better option for people who regularly go, or are on more of a budget.

For people who want to stay home, watching their tv can be a huge cost saver. First off the expense of televisions have gone way down, and the quality of the screen has gone up. People can find tv's for a reasonable price, and they will last for years. People can have this long term investment for years to come. The same idea goes for people who want to find surround sound at a reasonable cost. Most options are available for a reasonable price, they are wireless so chords are not an issue, and can be set up pretty easily for the most part. The price of what you are going to watch can vary quite a bit. Depending on if a person is looking for a more specific thing to watch, or they just have an idea of what they want. There are so many resources available, it can almost be over whelming. I did a post on what streaming services a person can use, which can help. There is a lot of technology available to use these services for cheap, and you will have to find the best option that suites you. Another option is buying, or renting the movie. Buying is the better option if a person feels like they will watch the movie again, but movies can be expensive depending on their popularity, or how new they are. renting is a better option if a person does not know if they are going to keep enjoy the movie. Buying can be reasonable with older movies, and can be cheaper than renting if you search online a bit. You also have to invest in a player to watch the movies, but this is reasonably cheap. Most options have moved to blu ray, but dvd players are still out there, and you can find used versions of dvds for very cheap. The other benefit of watching at home is you are able to relax in your own home, and do not have to deal with other people. The other added benefit is you can make the same snacks at the theater for much cheaper at home

Experience
I briefly went over some aspects of the experience earlier when dealing with a theater. Since theaters are moving towards a higher experience, there are many added features to going to the theater. This comes from the chairs, to the seating arrangement, to the experience outside the movie, and other added features to draw people out. Some theaters even have dinning experiences while you watch the movie. One major benefit of going to the theater is being able to see the movies that have just come out. Some theaters even play classic movies during different times at a cheaper rate, but it depends on the theater. Some places even play live music during the show instead of the actual track of the movie playing, but these shows are very expensive. While watching these movies, the theaters are specifically designed to watch movies. They have gigantic screens, and allow people to get the full movie watching experience. The audio in the theater is also specially designed for the best experience possible. The viewing also depends on the preference of the movie goer. I personally enjoy any movie at the theater, because I enjoy the overall experience. Many people choose to go to the theater because they are seeing a movie they would really enjoy seeing. Other people like to see movies that push the limits of the theater. One such example was Avatar. The 3-D aspect of this, as well as the visuals, and sound makes the experience that much better. That is why many people like to see sci-fi, fantasy, and action movies because it provides an enhanced experience. The major downside to this is the limited options of what you are able to see. Sometimes there are stints during a year where their are no good movie options. This also goes for movies that I want to see, but not to the point where the value of going to the theater and spending the extra movie is not worth it. I will wait, and watch movies at home instead

The best experience about watching movies at home is the vast options available to watch. Overall most of the movies I have seen have been at home. Especially for a person getting into movies, and wanting to watch highly criticized films. The library of movies available for home viewing is extensive, With the cheap cost of setting up a good place to watch movies, this allows people a better option than spending their money else where. The downside is that even with the best options to watch movies at home, some movies are better seen in theaters. This is, because theaters spend vast amounts of money to make these theaters, and have the highest quality technology available. Also experiences like 3-D, or Imax can not be replicated well, or at all.

Overall their are benefits, and downsides to each experience. People should way the differences before they desire on how to watch a movie.
